The Midway Fire District proposes to build a new fire station to replace our Station 1 located at 1956 Central Avenue in Colonie. Originally built in 1951, the Central Avenue station is in deteriorating condition and does not meet safety and operational standards. The proposed station will be a functional building that provides space for apparatus, administration and training, and a community room that can be used by the public. The new facility will also be able to accommodate EMS in the future. The station will be built using durable, low maintenance and energy efficient materials and systems that can last for more than 75 years.
